We’re truly honored to be recognized again by Alfresco for our accomplishments. Over the past year, we’ve continued to see strong demand for our Alfresco consulting services as more and more organizations are becoming more liberal towards the idea of open source. Red Hat’s Innovation Awards Open for Nomination

Posted by on March 16, 2009

Last week, Red Hat launched their third annual Innovation Awards, which will be presented at the 2009 Red Hat Summit and JBoss World held in Chicago later this year in September.

“The Innovation Awards were created to honor individuals and companies who have forged new ground to demonstrate innovative solutions through the use of Red Hat and JBoss products and technologies.”

There are a total of six categories, including Management Excellence, Optimized Solutions, Superior Alternatives, Extensive Ecosystem, Carved out Costs, and Outstanding Open Source Architecture.

“Five categories will each recognize two winning submissions, one from Red Hat and one from JBoss, and the Outstanding Open Source Architecture category will recognize one winner who is deploying both Red Hat and JBoss solutions. From these category winners, a Red Hat Innovator of the Year and a JBoss Innovator of the Year will be selected by the community through online voting and announced at the awards ceremony.”

Last year, Rivet Logic was honored with the JBoss Innovator of the Year Award for our Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions implementation, www.kaptest.com.

We look forward to participating in the Innovation Awards again this year!

Red Hat & Microsoft: Virtualizing Together

Posted by on February 19, 2009

Red Hat and Microsoft?? Working together??? Yes, you heard correctly. The two leading and competing providers of operating environments deployed by enterprises are coming together due to customer demand.

Red Hat announced recently that it has “signed reciprocal agreements with Microsoft Corporation to enable increased interoperability for the companies’ virtualization platforms”.

“Each company will join the other’s virtualization validation/certification program and will provide coordinated technical support for their mutual server virtualization customers. The reciprocal validations will allow customers to deploy heterogeneous, virtualized Red Hat and Microsoft solutions with confidence.”

“The key components of the reciprocal agreements are:

  • Red Hat will validate Windows Server guests to be supported on Red Hat Enterprise virtualization technologies.
  • Microsoft will validate Red Hat Enterprise Linux server guests to be supported on Windows Server Hyper-V and Microsoft Hyper-V Server.
  • Once each company completes testing, customers with valid support agreements will receive coordinated technical support for running Windows Server operating system virtualized on Red Hat Enterprise virtualization, and for running Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtualized on Windows Server Hyper-V and Microsoft Hyper-V Server.”

More information can be found at www.redhat.com/promo/svvp.

This just goes to show that Red Hat and Microsoft CAN work together under one roof, or at least one virtualized environment…….
