Hi Alaaeldin,

Thank you for contributing a good summary of the options available. I agree this type of integration is increasingly important for clients.

Just a note on Option #1 - while Luis's blog post gives a good outline, the steps do not work fully in newer versions of Alfresco so I recently wrote a post of my own that steps through getting things working on 3.4.

The post can be accessed here: http://blogs.alfresco.com/wp/wabson/2011/02/17/from-web-scripts-to-portlets-alfresco-3-4/

Sure thing Patil.

It's a transparent div that sits on top of everything and displays an animated GIF. We used a4j:status to display he div when an AJAX request goes to the server.

I hope this helps.

P.S. Don't forget that the source code is also publicly available here:
 https://svn.rivetlogic.com/repos/rivets/app/scar/scar/

Hi Thaer,

The way we typically take care of propagating identity from Liferay to Alfresco is by leveraging a custom authentication component we wrote for Alfresco. It's called STAr (Secure Token Authentication rivet).

You can read more about it here: http://wiki.rivetlogic.com/display/AWPr/STAr

Thanks again for the kind words.

Thanks Alaaeldin. I got the STAr subsystem working on my system but in Enterprise 3.2.0r I had to update the definition of localAuthenticationService in star-authentication-context.xml using the latest definition from alfresco-authentication-context.xml, as it uses a different class in this version.
