Thank you for contributing a good summary of the options available. I agree this type of integration is increasingly important for clients.

Just a note on Option #1 - while Luis's blog post gives a good outline, the steps do not work fully in newer versions of Alfresco so I recently wrote a post of my own that steps through getting things working on 3.4.

The way we typically take care of propagating identity from Liferay to Alfresco is by leveraging a custom authentication component we wrote for Alfresco.  It's called STAr (Secure Token Authentication rivet).
